Radiant Heart Reiki Reconnecting YOU with Universal Light

RADIANT HEART REIKI

Radiant Heart Reiki is a modality developed by registered nurse BarbaraRose, that emphasizes feeling the pervasive LOVE from the Cosmic Source, experiencing a connection to the Earth as well as to the Divine. In Radiant Heart Reiki the practitioner becomes a bridge between the energies from the First Source, Heaven, and the energies of Earth. It is a Reiki practice that emphasizes the Divine Heart.

“In this drama of life, your love must be greater than your pain.”
— Paramahansa Yogananda

Twenty groups of drugs are used to modify the body’s reaction to stress. The total planetary cost is staggering. Teaching skills in transforming negative emotions could be an alternative strategy.

The State of Health and Health Care in the U.S.

In 2008, the United States has spent more on health care than almost any other country in the world, yet it ranks 47th in life expectancy and 43rd in child mortality. Despite decades of technology, we have more and more disease and lower and lower cure rates. Modern medicine is quite young—150 years—and, beginning in the 1920s has increasingly assumed a “disease care” model. This model is mechanistic and uses a system power-over the symptoms rather than a holistic approach that will access the body’s “doctor within” for stimulating a return to robust health.

When Heart and Mind Dissociate
…a person is most electromagnetically stable when the heart and brain are entrained—working in sync. During times of stress or trauma, heart rate variability patterns are chaotic, and brain waves are not in sync with heart waves.
— Janice Walton-Hadlock, Recovery from Parkinson’s Disease

When Mind does not recognize and appreciate Heart, sooner or later, Mind wrests control and assumes the job of “head of state.” Early on, one usually has no clue that anything is out of balance, and Mind, unable to access the spirit of the Heart (intuition) operates solely by using powers of reason. As feelings and hunches are increasingly ignored, Heart and Mind move further and further apart. Losing its system of guidance, the physical body becomes strained and lapses into dis-ease. Symptoms are ignored as long as they are bearable. Anxiety and depression eventually ensue. Loss of the spirit of the Heart is not appreciated. Because the body is seen only as an assemblage of physical components, its calls of distress are viewed with suspicion and therefore are treated pathologically and antagonistically. From this perspective, the treatment is mechanistic. Antidepressants and other psychopharmacological drugs are prescribed. It is true, these drugs can change brain chemistry and help one function day to day. But not without costs. One, often a drug dependency is created. Two, a pre-existing split between Heart and Mind becomes evermore entrenched. Three, the root cause is not addressed, only symptoms. Finally, the real health issue remains unsolved.

You Are a Being of Energy and Innate Wisdom
A kind a super intelligence exists in each of us, infinitely smarter and possessed of technical knowledge far beyond our present understanding.
—Lewis Thomas, M.D., The Medusa and the Snail

Your consciousness is connected to every cell in your body. All living things have an inborn or innate wisdom, a healing ability that guides each total organism’s functioning to maintain health its entire life. We easily observe this in animals. Humans are no exception. We sometimes call this “the wisdom of the body,” innate intelligence,” our “inner healer,” or “the God within.”

For millennia humans have been perceived as having an energy field. Though Western philosophy has remained quite skeptical for many centuries, in the 1970s scientists created the Super-Conducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) that was able to measure the human energy field for the first time. Like the Earth’s magnetic field, but of less magnitude, a subtle-energy field surrounds each human being and every living creature on the Earth. This subtle energy is universal. It permeates the cosmos. This energy does not just live in your brain; it fills your entire body.

This energy field connects to our body’s electrical and nervous systems and the rest of the body systems. When the body is stressed, a cascade of chemical reactions are set into motion. When one is infused with vital life-affirming energy during an energy healing—such as Reiki—subtle energies are brought back into balance. Thus the cascade of reactions caused by dis-ease is halted and the body’s innate healing abilities are set into motion. Good health and well-being is achieved by a balance of all these energies.

Our body’s subtle energy system is organized into interpenetrating layers connected to both the highest source, we think of as Heaven above, and to the Earth beneath our feet. Motion and flow is maintained in our subtle energies by spinning energy centers, called chakras, points of concentration. Seven major chakras act as a set of cogs or wheels rather like the workings of a clock or engine. Their function is to keep the subtle energies flowing in a smooth and balance manner. The center, or fourth chakra, is the heart chakra and corresponds to the physical heart.

The Human Heart
The heart has its own intrinsic nervous system that operates and
processes information independently of the brain or nervous system.
This is what allows a heart transplant to work.…

— Dr. J. Andrew Armour, editor of Neurocardiology

The human heart has an intelligence beyond our understanding. When people touch or are close to one another, one person’s heartbeat signal is registered in the other person’s brainwaves. The human embryo’s heart is formed at 20 days after fertilization. On the 21st to the 22nd day, a simple tubelike heart begins to beat with its own blood. At 21 days, the embryo has no other working organs, and the first true brain activity will not begin for five more months. The heart will continue to beat throughout life independent of a signal from the brain. Researchers have found that the heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the human body, 5,000 times stronger than that produced by the brain. This field can be measured several feet away from the body. The electromagnetic field generated by the heart permeates every cell and acts as a synchronizing signal for the body.

We often see the heart as subordinate to the brain. Yet no more stable force within the human body exists, nor a more intelligent source of perception, nor a more direct link to creativity, than the heart when one is unconflicted. Gratitude and loving-kindness engages the higher cognitive functioning of the brain.
A conflicted person is one who is uncertain and unaligned, caught up in the daily stage of turbulence, of relationships of personal economics, and of all the many concerns of day-to-day survival. This, however, is not the reality in which the energetic heart lives. The single most important thing we can do is to practice the heart’s intelligence in our everyday, moment-to-moment expressions.

The heart profoundly affects perception, awareness, and intelligence. The human heart operates at a frequency that no intellect can unlock. Radiant Heart Reiki activates the intelligence of your heart so that you may choose to be a filament of coherent energy and experience a hub of heart intelligence that expresses itself in everyday encounters.

What is Reiki?
Just for today, do not anger.
Just for today, do not worry.
Honor your parents, teachers, and elders.
Earn your living honestly.
Show gratitude to every living thing.

Reiki Creed, also known as Reiki Principles,
Translated by Hawayo Kawamura-Takata

REIKI (RAY-key) is a natural system, an ancient hands-on, natural healing art that brings all of the body’s energies into greater balance. Reiki is a healing art that can be learned by anyone. It is a self-care approach that assists people to work with the body rather than against it to activate, harmonize, and reconnect with the life force energy. Reiki was rediscovered in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui of Japan. He called his system the Complete System of Natural Healing. Reiki is the only energy medicine healing art that includes an attunement, a process passed from teacher to student, providing a reconnection to the subtle energy system thereby allowing him or her to gain access to higher vibrational energies and enhanced intuitive abilities.
A Reiki Master Teacher instructs the student how to connect with and channel the highest vibration in the universe, the source of All that Is, the energy of LOVE! When the student experiences an overwhelming feeling of joy or gratitude and becomes enveloped in the feeling for a period of seconds or moments, this is an experience is closely related to what healers call being connected to the Source.

Reiki practitioners act as a conduit for life-giving energies to move through the subtle-energy fields. The receiver’s innate wisdom draws and directs the higher frequencies through the energetic system for healing. This is an active process much like diffusion—vibrant source energies move to areas of lower vibration and to non-coherent areas for regaining balance. Coherence is important for healthy cells functioning. The body strives to maintain inner and outer balance and harmony for optimal health. The healer must hold a space for healing, set aside the ego, and support the healee’s inner guidance system, which allows healing to take place. Before beginning the work the healer asks to be a pure channel for movement of the life-force into the physiologic/cellular systems to improve human functioning and heal dis-ease and illness.

So, What is Radiant Heart Reiki?

…the heart produces a significant electromagnetic field with each contraction…
the magnetic field is not limited to volume conduction and extends outside the body.
The therapeutic potential for interaction of this cardioelectromagnetic field
both within and outside the body is largely unexplored.”
—Katharine O. Burleson and Gary E. Schwartz,
Cardiac torsion and electromagnetic fields: The cardiac bioinformation hypothesis

I, Barbara Rose, learned Reiki the in autumn of 1988 and have practiced the art ever since. I became a Reiki Master Teacher in 1997, just prior to moving to Tennessee. Over time, as I practiced and taught Reiki, I began to feel an all pervasive LOVE from the Cosmic Source, experiencing a connection to the Earth as well as to the Divine. I began to feel as if I were a bridge between the energies from the First Source, Heaven, and the energies of Earth. As this happened, I became aware that my heart was opening ever wider. I then decided in my Reiki practice I wanted to emphasize the heart.

The heart is an independent sensory organ at the physical level, by far the largest electromagnetic field in the human body at an energetic level, and a connective link to the Creator. The human is an instrument analogous to a broadcasting tower, the heart its transmitter. When the human instrument is functioning in an unconflicted state, transmitting from its heart center, it is broadcasting the frequency of First Source to the Earth Plane.

I began to know that the heart of healing is the human heart. When the heart is oscillating as it should, everything else in the body entrains to it. The body’s coherent energy circulates from the heart. I realized the importance of the broader perspective, to remain out of judgement, not to get caught up in victimization, and to subdue the ego. I began to blend techniques I had learned in other modalities, such as the clover leaf exercise from BrainGym, which help align the energetic body with the physical and open the heart. When we are at ease, we are connected to the Divine source. One can experience this divine Love and Healing can happen only when the heart chakra is open. The heart chakra is responsible for relationships and the right to love, with its attending compassion, self-control, acceptance of self, and the ability to forgive.
With our hearts relaxed and open, we can receive Divine guidance and make choices based on empathy, caring, compassion. Resting in the Presence, we can fully be in the present. From this place we can create loving solutions and options for our lives and make healthy, optimum choices, moment to moment.

Ultimately, every form of healing goes back to the Divine:
love melts all blockages. Compassion gives strength and boosts power.
Light heals and blesses.

The Secret Of Life
As God was creating the world,
he called upon his archangels.
God asked his archangels
to help decide where to put
the Secret of Life.
“Bury it in the ground,”
one angel replied.
“Put it on the bottom of the sea,”
said another.
“Hide it in the mountains,”
another suggested.
God replied,
“If do any of those,
only a few will find
the Secret of Life.
The Secret of Life
must be accessible
to EVERYONE!”
One angel replied,
“I know, put it in each
human’s heart.”
“Yes!” God said.
“Within each human heart.”
And so it is—
The SECRET OF LIFE
lies within all of us.

Descriptions of Reiki Class Levels / Degrees
USUI’s Degrees—Reiki Levels
SHODEN—Level I—First Degree—First Teaching
OKUDEN— Level II—Second Degree—Inner Teaching
SHINPIDEN— Level III—Third Degree—Mystery Teaching,

Level I—First Degree—First Teachings
Students learn practical hands-on techniques to give Reiki to others and techniques for self-healing. The four parts of the attunement bring one in greater harmony with each student’s energetic system. All students will give and receive a complete healing. After the class each student can do self-Reiki healing and give Reiki to others. The student’s main focus is self work.

Level II—Second Degree—Inner Teachings

Continuing Reiki students learn more hands-on techniques to further empower their Reiki practice. These include additional Japanese Reiki techniques, symbols to enhance Reiki practice, spiral meditation, and instructions in mental healing and distant or absentee healing. The attunement process is said to increase the Reiki power/ energy ten-fold. Distance healing is an additional empowering aspect.

Reiki III—Third Degree, Parts A & B

Usui designated three levels of Reiki teaching and mastery. However, most teachers today teach four divisions and have divided the last level into two parts—A and B. Both workshops are required for one to become a Reiki Master Teacher.

Level III/A—Third Degree (Part A)—Mystery Teachings: Reiki Master

Reiki prepares a practitioner with all skills needed to perform high-level energy work. This workshop includes a meditation designed to open the student to the master level of practice. More techniques and symbols are learned including: Reiki Master Symbol, Reiki Dragon-Breathe Breathing Technique, and Water Ceremony—all preparatory tools for Reiki Mastery. Students may stay at this level if they do not wish to teach and pass Reiki on to others.

Level III/B—Third Degree (Part B) Mystery: Reiki Master Teacher

Third Degree continuing student will learn how to pass all Reiki attunements including the Master Attunement. Reiki Master Teacher necessary attunements thus you pass Reiki on and empower. The Duty of a Reiki Master Teacher is to empower, not only embracing, but becoming Reiki, carrying the Reiki energy and sharing it with others. A Reiki Master Teacher who completes the Teacher training yet does not teach Reiki continues as a Reiki Master Practitioner. A Reiki Master Teacher empowers others.
